Criando o Padrão de Enlaces Laser Intersatélite Abertos (Open-OISL)

Technical analysis and engineering reference.

1. The Siloed State of Space Laser Communications

Optical Inter-Satellite Links (OISL) provide gigabit-to-terabit data transmission across thousands of kilometers in vacuum. However, first-generation mega-constellations deployed proprietary, closed optical designs: a satellite from Vendor A cannot talk to a satellite from Vendor B, even if they pass within 50 kilometers of each other in the same orbital plane.

2. Open-OISL Physical and Framing Specifications

NTNEcosystems unifies the global space sector around open physical interfaces: - Specifying the exact C-band optical wavelength grid (ITU 100 GHz grid around 1550.12 nm) and polarization states. - Standardizing coarse acquisition beacons: 850nm scanning lasers with standardized pulse codes that allow optical heads to acquire and lock onto moving target satellites within 15 seconds. - Adopting standardized framing (CCSDS 141.0-B optical packet transport and O-RAN fronthaul framing), enabling line-rate switching without proprietary ASIC decoding.

3. Global Commercial Adoption

Major space agencies (ESA, NASA, JAXA) and leading commercial satellite manufacturers are adopting Open-OISL, laying the technical foundation for a truly unified space internet.
